Introducing our new base, Driftwool Roving is a soft 22.5 micron superwash wool top hand-dyed in small batches for spinners, fiber artists, and makers. This fine wool fiber offers a smooth draft, beautiful color saturation, and an airy, lofty feel that works beautifully for both woolen and worsted spinning styles.
Superwash wool can sometimes get a bad reputation for spinning because some bases feel overly slick or compact. I chose this superwash finewool base because it still maintains softness, loft, and an easy draft while holding vibrant color beautifully.
Its slightly higher micron count gives it more body and character than ultra-fine merino, creating a fiber that feels approachable, versatile, and especially lovely for soft, lofty handspun yarns.

Care Instructions:
Hand wash gently in cool to lukewarm water with a wool-safe wash. While this fiber is superwash treated, hand washing is still recommended to help preserve the softness, loft, and longevity of handspun yarns and finished projects.
Avoid sudden temperature changes, agitation, or high heat. Lay flat to dry.
